    Walter Crandall

    Project Director III

    Project director of:
Ethiopia Network for HIV/AIDS Treatment, Care, & Support

Walter "Bud" Crandall has worked for eight years as an MSH chief of party for PEPFAR-funded USAID HIV programs, first in Ethiopia with the HIV/AIDS Care and Support Program (HCSP) and then the Ethiopia Network for HIV/AIDS Treatment, Care, and Support (ENHAT-CS) Program. He has most recently been working as chief of party for the Strengthening TB and HIV & AIDS and TB Responses in Eastern Uganda (STAR-E) Project.

Bud has over three decades of international development experience—mostly at the senior project management level. Previously he worked for 11 years as country director for CARE International in Indonesia and Kenya. He also led humanitarian responses in Bosnia and water and sanitation projects in Sierra Leone. Bud has a strong background in new business development, with over 20 years of proven expertise in conceptualizing and designing new initiatives for USAID and other major donors. He also has extensive experience in emergency and refugee programming.

Bud began his career as a Peace Corps health volunteer in Sierra Leone. He has an MA and MSc from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with emphasis on international affairs and adult speech and language pathology, respectively.
