The Added Value of Combining LDP with Clinical Training on PPFP Service Delivery

The USAID-funded Leadership, Management, and Governance and Evidence to Action Projects studied the effect of combining a leadership development program with clinical training to improve postpartum family planning services in Cameroon.

The study took place at two hospitals in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from October 2014-September 2015, with data collected at baseline, midline, and endline stages. Study results indicated that training a clinical cadre of health workers is necessary, but that it alone may not be sufficient for them to apply the skills to real-life workplace challenges, and that leadership and management training could help bridge that gap.

This endline report contains the full findings and results from the study. Excerpts of the study findings are also available in English and French as a shorter research brief.
