Bangladesh’s Plan for Sustaining Local Technical Support for its Logistics Management System
In Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), with assistance from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), is well ahead of other countries in its use of locally developed and automated inventory management tools, especially at the upazila (sub-district) and warehouse levels. To maintain the knowledge and technical skills within the local support pool, the DGFP organized refresher trainings for about 80 master trainers and troubleshooters in March 2019. Representatives from the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program provided technical support at the trainings. The objective was to work with participants on addressing common troubleshooting scenarios, accessing appropriate data, and using those data for decision making.
