Garfee Williams

Garfee Williams has extensive program management experience in health systems, organization management, and planning. He has worked for more than 16 years in public service at senior managerial and technical levels within the Liberian health system. Garfee has extensive knowledge of issues and trends in medicine and public health, globally and nationally, especially in health systems management and planning, policy compliance and regulations, partnership coordination, and capacity strengthening and development. Prior to joining the USAID Collaborative Support for Health (CSH) program, Garfee served as medical director of Phebe Hospital, County Health Officer of Liberia's Bong County, and health technical advisor of Africare, Liberia. A Liberian, Garfee worked for 10 years in a rural health facility during the country's 13-year civil war. He maintains strong relationships with the national and regional associations and holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Zoology and a master of public health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, with an emphasis on health system management and planning.
