Prevention is critical to reducing malaria-related illness and death. MSH supports WHO, donor, and RBM-approved interventions in endemic countries, such as the use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), indoor residual spraying, uptake of intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy (IPTp), and seasonal malaria chemoprophylaxis (SMC).

MSH programs support:

  • Routine distribution of ITNs to pregnant women and children completing vaccination schedules and increased uptake of IPTp in Benin, Madagascar, Malawi, and Nigeria

  • Annual SMC campaigns in targeted districts in Benin and Nigeria
