New Grant Management Dashboard for Global Fund Grant Implementers Slated for Pilot Testing
A grant management dashboard for use by implementers of grants from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund)—slated for pilot testing in six countries beginning in February 2014—is being codesigned and codeveloped by Grant Management Solutions (GMS), SAP AG (Germany) and the Global Fund. GMS is a project funded through a contract between the U.S. Agency for International Development and Management Sciences for Health, who leads the project along with 25 partners.
GMS, SAP, and the Global Fund, under the Global Fund's "Innovation Coalition," are cocreating a dashboard that will enable grant implementers—in Global Fund terms, "principal recipients"—to visualize and compare performance data and use indicators, and thereby make better informed and more timely decisions to optimize grant management and performance. SAP's Martin Kopp, who heads a global healthcare business unit at the German software giant, highlighted the collaboration in public remarks he made at a December 2 reception on day 1 of the Global Fund's Fourth Replenishment Launch, entitled "No Time to Lose: Sharing the Responsibility to Save Lives.
