MSH Selected to Serve on Market Dynamics Working Group for Family Planning 2020 (FP2020)

MSH is pleased to announce that Dr. Fabio Castaño, MSH’s Global Technical Lead for Family Planning, has been selected to serve as a member of the Market Dynamics Working Group for Family Planning 2020 (FP2020). FP2020 is a global partnership that supports the rights of women and girls to decide, freely, and for themselves, whether, when, and how many children they want to have. FP2020 works with governments, civil society, multi-lateral organizations, donors, the private sector, and the research and development community to enable 120 million more women and girls to use contraceptives by 2020. For more information, read the FP2020 press release (PDF). For the complete list of members of the Market Dynamics Working Group, click here (PDF).

The Market Dynamics Working Group will provide technical support and guidance in the effort to improve the availability, affordability, and variety of quality family planning methods in target countries. The goal of the group is to secure better value for money in family planning markets, enable women to choose from a broad range of family planning methods, and promote equity in access to family planning options.

“MSH is very honored to support full access, full choice, and health, education, and economic security for women by serving on the FP2020 Market Dynamics Working Group, “ said Dr. Castaño.

An open, international call for applications resulted in 130 submissions from 42 countries. All applicants were reviewed by a committee comprised of the FP2020 Task Team and Working Group co-leads. Group members are volunteers and will serve a two-year term.

The Market Dynamics (MD) Working Group is led by John Skibiak, from the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition, and Alan Staple, from the Clinton Health Access Initiative. Co-leads serve to steer and direct the operations of each Working Group.
