Boston Globe Obituary Celebrates Life of Catherine Crone Coburn, Former MSH President and Chief Operating Officer

MSH mourns the passing of Catherine Crone Coburn, who died on February 18, 2013. Her life was recently celebrated in a feature Boston Globe obituary.

Ms. Coburn served as MSH’s President and Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 2002. She joined MSH in 1981 as the founder and director of MSH’s Management Training Program. Prior to becoming President and COO, she served in a variety of leadership roles, including Director of the Family Planning Management Development Project, Chief Development Officer, and founder and Director of MSH’s Health Financing Program. Among other achievements, she also played an active role at the 1994 landmark International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo.

Those who worked closely with Catherine will remember her boundless energy, drive for excellence, and commitment to the mission. “Scores of MSH staff, country health leaders, and colleagues benefitted from Catherine’s desire to make a difference in management and leadership for health,” said Jonathan D.
