Dr. Sheikh Asiruddin is a medical professional with 20 years of experience working with MOHFW and international NGOs in the area of health nutrition, immunization, MNCH and pharmaceuticals management systems strengthening. He played a vital role in liaison with donors, professional bodies, health directorates, and local managers in his career span. He played a pivotal monitoring role in implementation of three RCTs on management of newborn infection, LBW babies, and Birth Asphyxia while working with Saving Newborn Lives program under Save the Children. He contributed in development of National Neonatal Health Strategy of Bangladesh and introduction of HBB program. As Team Leader in TRAction /URC Bangladesh, he led sub-awardees ICDDR,B for designing 14 implementation researches on TB, RMNCH and Nutrition health problems. In 2014, he switched to SIAPS/MSH as Team Leader-HSS and focusing on strengthening drug regulatory systems, establishing and improvement of health information & pharmaceuticals management systems for priority MNCH medicines. He has also successfully demonstrated a public-private partnership between of SIAPS/MSH & Khulna Children Hospital that could speed up progress toward ending preventable child and maternal death (EPCMD).
