Senior Technical Advisor
Sheikh Asiruddin is a medical professional with 19 years of experience working in the areas of health nutrition, immunization, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), and pharmaceutical management systems strengthening. Since 2014, he has been the team leader-HSS for SIAPS, where he is focused on strengthening drug regulatory systems and establishing and improving pharmaceutical management systems for priority MNCH medicines. Previously, Sheikh worked with the Saving Newborn Lives program under Save the Children, focusing on management of newborn infection, low birth weight babies, and birth asphyxia. He contributed to the development of the National Neonatal Health Strategy of Bangladesh and the introduction of the Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) program. He also served as team leader for TRAction/URC Bangladesh, where he led the design of 14 implementation research studies on TB, reproductive health, MNCH, and nutrition. He holds a bachelor of medicine, a bachelor of surgery, and a master of science in nutrition.
