Project Director - Uganda
Raymond Byaruhanga is the project director for the USAID-funded TRACK TB project in Uganda. A medical doctor with more than 17 years of experience in HIV and tuberculosis management, he has extensive international experience managing multiple donor projects including more than 10 years working with USAID projects. In addition to his work with MSH, Raymond also chairs the Uganda Medical Association welfare scheme. Previously, he practiced medicine in rural Uganda, where he diagnosed and treated tropical diseases and served as an obstetrician and surgeon. He also worked as the executive director of the largest HIV counseling and testing organization in sub-Saharan Africa where he engaged with Global Fund implementation. He was the vice chair of the HIV Civil Society Fund, which has funded more than 200 NGOs in HIV services. Raymond holds a master's degree in health services management from Uganda Martyrs' University.
