As director of district operations for the STAR-E project in Uganda, Mildred Latigo's core areas of intervention are emergency obstetric care, helping babies breathe, family planning, and quality improvement at the facility and community levels. She has 27 years of clinical and public health experience. Before joining MSH, Mildred practiced clinical management in two hospitals in rural Uganda, and she coordinated the polio eradication program in a rural district and championed population and development issues across many districts in the country. Mildred has conducted research in costing, nutrition, and the impact of traditional birth attendants. She has a medical degree from Makerere University and an MPH from Leeds University in the United Kingdom.
