Med Makumbi
Project Director

Med Makumbi is the project director of the Care and Treatment for Sustained Support (CaTSS) project. Previously, he served as project director of the Pro-ACT project. A public health specialist, Med has more than 20 years of experience in development work, management, governance, and public health programs, especially on HIV and AIDS, TB, and malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to his work with Pro-ACT, Med served as chief of party of the USAID-funded Northern Uganda Malaria, AIDS, and TB (NUMAT) project in Uganda. He also worked as project coordinator for the DFID-funded project Impact Assessment. Med began his development career at the NGO ActionAid International, where he oversaw development activities in one region of Uganda. He holds an MA in development economics from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, The Netherlands, and a master of public health and bachelor of statistics from Makerere University, Uganda.
