Project Director Supervisor
Kristin Cooney has worked for international nongovernmental organizations and USAID for 28 years. She has worked with MSH since 2006 and in that time has led large country programs and worked in more than 20 countries. She has designed and implemented high-performing country programs in complex settings including Democratic Republic of the Congo and Haiti.
Prior to joining MSH, Kristin worked with USAID/West Africa, and she has also worked with USAID in Haiti and Washington, DC. She was the chief of party for IntraHealth/PRIME II in Rwanda and director of the breastfeeding and maternal and child health division at the Institute for Reproductive Health at Georgetown University. Kristin worked with three different projects at the Academy for Educational Development (now FHI360). Her experience includes leading and managing a variety of reproductive health, maternal and child health, and other health programs, ensuring their success through capacity building, supportive supervision, quality assurance, results management, problem solving, and strong collaboration. Her work history reflects a balance between field and US-based home offices, with strong management, project and strategic framework development, and monitoring and evaluation expertise. She is fluent in French.
