Kanjinga Kakanda is a senior technical advisor for the Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) program, based in Arlington, Virginia. A physician with more than 10 years of experience in HIV/AIDS, Kanjinga supports HIV programs with the implementation of electronic dispensing tools for management of patients on antiretroviral medication.
Previously, Kanjinga worked as a primary investigator for a CDC AIDS project in Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she conducted clinical studies on mother-to-child transmission of HIV, TB/HIV co-infection in children. She also conducted situational analysis and program planning in Cote d'Ivoire, Haiti, Jamaica, and Guinea.
Kanjinga holds a master of public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a medical degree from the University of Kinshasa. She is fluent in English, French, Swahili and Lingala.
