Juan de Dios Paredes
Juan de Dios Paredes is the former minister of health of Honduras and has nearly 30 years of experience as a consultant and manager of national and international programs on issues of health planning, health policy and reform, decentralization and sectoral coordination, human resource development, hospital management, and innovations in maternal and child health. He has held positions at all levels of Honduras' health system.
Dr. Paredes has also served as the national coordinator for Honduras' health sector, a member of the governing board of the Honduran Social Security Institute, president of the governing board of the National Board of Social Welfare, and a delegate from Honduras to the World Health Assembly. He has also been a representative for Honduras to the Council for the Pan American Health Organization and other international meetings.
Dr. Paredes holds an MD in medicine and surgery from the National Autonomous University of Honduras, and a master of public health from the School of Public Health of Mexico. He has conducted research that has served as reference and guidance at national and international forums.
