Management Information Specialist
Joseph Joachim Joseph brings over five years of experience in health information systems and information and communications technology (ICT) to his role as a management information specialist with the Tanzania Technical Support Project (TSSP). He provides a wide range of database, systems/network administration, and ICT support and has experience in supporting various health information systems, including DHIS2, Lab Information System, Health Facility Registry, electronic Logistics Management Information System, National Sanitation Management Information System, and electronic Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (eIDSR) system.
Until February 2017, Joseph worked as a system administrator at the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation under the Abbott Fund in Tanzania (LabNet Project). In this role he provided technical support for the Laboratory Information System to all 23 regional hospitals, ensuring daily synchronization of data from regional sites to the data center. He also trained and supported users of the system.
From 2013 to 2016 Joseph worked as an ICT support specialist at RTI International under the Tanzania Health Information Systems technical assistance project, seconded to the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children in Tanzania (MOH). In this role he participated in strengthening the Health Information System, and participated in the roll-out of DHIS2 and eIDSR systems.
Throughout his public health career, Joseph has worked closely with Tanzania’s MOH. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2013 from the University of Dar es Salaam. He speaks Swahili and English.
