Senior Technical Advisor
Dr. Hector Colindres served as the regional coordinator for management and quality in the first phase of the Salud Mesoámerica Initiative and currently serves as regional advisor for continuous quality improvement in the second phase. He has provided technical assistance under many large-scale projects; redefining and restructuring ministries of health, and working with partners on strategic planning, business plans, management capacity-building, and reorganization and organizational systems management with ministries of health and other actors: social service agencies, nongovernmental organizations and others. He has focused on improving the quality of health service processes. Hector has worked with MSH for over 15 years in several countries in Latin America, including Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Bolivia, Jamaica, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. In addition, he has provided technical assistance through MSH in Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, and South Africa. Hector is a native Spanish speaker and also speaks English.
