David Mabirizi is a program director in MSH’s Pharmaceuticals and Health Technologies Group and was previously the deputy director for country programs for the SIAPS program. Under SIAPS, he was responsible for managing and monitoring the progress of programs and health area portfolios. As part of the SIAPS senior management team, Dr. Mabirizi ensured consistency, coordination, linkages, and integration across all components of the program while providing key project management support, guidance, and supervision to more than 20 in-country teams. He is a public health specialist with more than 15 years of experience at the district, national, and global levels. He has worked in a variety of settings and capacities, including the public health sector, faith-based organizations, and international nonprofits, including more than 12 years with MSH. He has worked on and managed USAID projects for more than 10 years, focusing on grants management, human resource capacity development, HIV/AIDS, and pharmaceutical system strengthening. Before working at MSH, He served as partnership support manager for the District HIV and AIDS Integrated Model program in Uganda and held various positions in the country, including medical officer, medical superintendent, and deputy director of district health services. In addition to earning his medical degree, Dr. Mabirizi holds master’s degrees in public health and business administration and has an M.Phil in maternal and child health.
