Deputy Director for Country Programs
David Mabirizi is the deputy director for country programs for the SIAPS program. He is responsible for managing and monitoring the progress of SIAPS country programs and health area portfolios. As part of the SIAPS senior management team, Mr. Mabirizi works to ensure consistency, coordination, linkages, and integration across all components of the program while providing key project management support, guidance, and supervision to over 20 in-country teams. Mr. Mabirizi is a public health specialist with over 15 years of district, national, and global level experience. He has worked in a variety of settings and capacities, including the public health sector, faith-based organizations and international nonprofits, including over eight years with Management Sciences for Health (MSH). He has worked on and managed USAID projects for more than 10 years, focusing on grants management, human resource capacity development, and pharmaceutical system strengthening. Before working at MSH, Mr. Mabirizi served as Partnership Support Manager for the District HIV and AIDS Integrated Model program in Uganda and held various positions including medical officer, medical superintendent, and deputy director of district health services in Uganda. In addition to earning his medical degree, Dr. Mabirizi also holds master’s degrees in public health, business administration, and philosophy.
