Business Development Director, Health Programs Group
Bertra McGann is the director of business development for the Health Programs Group at MSH. Previously, Bertra worked as director of business development at Management Sciences for Development, a woman-owned for-profit organization working to strengthen democracy, governance, and human rights in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. She expanded the organization's portfolio to the Middle East and Asia and secured the firm's first regional award. Bertra was a member of resource mobilization teams at UNICEF headquarters in New York and of UNICEF's largest emergency program, Operation Lifeline Sudan, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Before joining UNICEF, Bertra served as a corporate lobbyist for a Fortune 500 company, and as congressional aide on Capitol Hill. Bertra brings to MSH more than 30 years of experience with international organizations in the public and private sectors. She has lived in Australia and Kenya, and she has traveled and worked in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Bertra holds an MA in international development from American University in Washington, DC, and a BA in economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
