Senior Technical Advisor
Aziz Maija is a Senior Technical Advisor for the Sustainable Drug Seller Initiatives (SDSI) program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to his expanded role with SDSI, Mr. Maija worked with MSH’s East African Drug Seller Initiative (EADSI), also funded by the Gates Foundation, and was responsible for managing, creating, and piloting the Ugandan adaptation of Tanzania’s Accredited Drug Dispensing Outlet (ADDO) initiative. Prior to joining MSH in 2008, Aziz worked as a technical consultant with Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) on a project aimed at improving access to ACTs in the private sector. He also worked with Health Action International (HAI-Africa) as a Survey Manager for quarterly monitoring of medicine prices in Uganda. Aziz is a Pharmacist by profession and is a recipient of several trainings in pharmaceutical management including a Certificate in Management of Medicines in International Health from Inwent Health Division, Germany as well as a Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply-UK (CIPS).
