Management Information Systems Specialist
Ally Y. Ally is a management information systems specialist with the Tanzania Technical Support Services Project (TSSP), providing technical support in Health Information Systems to the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children in Tanzania (MOH).
Until March 2017, Ally served as system administrator at the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation, seconded to Muhimbili National Hospital under LabNet, a project funded by the Abbott Fund where he provided technical support in managing the LabNet information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, LabNet Information System, and helpdesk support.
Ally began his career at RTI International, seconded to the MOH as an ICT specialist for the Health Information System project funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He managed the MOH’s ICT infrastructure and mail system, and provided support to MOH staff. Ally participated in the development and national roll-out of DHIS2 software, National Sanitation Management Information System, and Electronic Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response system in Tanzania.
Ally earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Dar-es-Salaam in 2013; he also holds a Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate. He speaks Swahili and English.
