Country Programs
Kenya - SEAM Contribution*

2002 Franchising Training of Trainers, photo by Amelia BurkeIn September 2001, the SEAM Program announced plans to provide technical support to the Sustainable Healthcare Enterprise Foundation (SHEF), formerly Cry for the World Foundation (CFW), to improve access to essential medicines in Kenya, with a particular emphasis on reaching the poorest and most underserved segments of the population.

To help improve SHEF's franchising operation, SEAM assisted with the development of training models and with fundraising initiatives to expand the franchise network. In addition, SEAM organized a new logistics and distribution approach for improved performance of the franchises.

2002 Franchising Training of Trainers, photo by Amelia BurkeSEAM will continue to help expand and improve the distribution level of the SHEF network by providing technical assistance, training, and management tools in following four areas—

  • Supervision
  • Communications
  • Analysis and evaluation
  • Management systems
