Even well-managed, successful organizations must constantly reassess and adapt their management practices as new demands arise and environments change. The Management and Organizational Sustainability Tool (MOST) presents a participatory, rapid assessment process for identifying an organization’s management needs and making plans for improvement. MOST helped public and private organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and United States make significant changes in their management systems and practices, resulting in improved services and strengthened sustainability.

This revised and expanded version of MOST brings out the key role played by an organization’s leaders, emphasizes the importance of having managers who lead at all levels. It incorporates new components on organization values, lines of authority and accountability, communication, decision-making and monitoring and evaluation.

This new guide provides all the information that organizational leaders and facilitators need for a successful MOST experience, including complete workshop session plans and suggestions for follow-up activities. It includes all materials (in print and on CD-ROM) for the participants’ workshop binders.
