Worldwide, the Management and Leadership Program works with some 60
organizations in dozens of countries. M&L's partnerships
with local consultants and organizations provide perspective, ensure
continuity, and help our work reflect a larger context.
In 2002, M&L established the Technical Cooperation Network for Management and Leadership in Health (TCNetwork), a network of technical assistance (TA) providers. Member organizations form a global community that is committed to mutual support, accountability, and excellence. These member organizations are effective, well-managed, and local.
The Technical Cooperation Network recognizes
that health management consulting expertise exists throughout the
world. The network seeks to link TA providers together in a “brand”
that stands for excellence. It also seeks to boost opportunities for
members who will come to know each other, and be able to pool resources
to bid on regional and even global projects. The TCNetwork is a distributed
network utilizing the TCNetwork Web site as a global hub, and peer-to-peer
communications within regions to foster an environment in which activity
and decision making can happen at any place in the network. Communication
and information will flow freely.
The purpose of the TCNetwork is to foster sustained improvement of
health care services through better management and leadership. By
means of the TCNetwork, clients and donors will have increased access
to quality technical assistance.
The TCNetwork was officially launched December 1, 2003 with ten founding
members from ten countries. The network began accepting applications
for new members, and by December of 2004, it hopes to have 40–50
members from 10–12 countries.
