Leadership and Management Capacity can Be Scaled Up Virtually

Mainstreaming and Scale-Up of Leadership and Management Capacity using Virtual Approaches

There are many ways to successfully mainstream and scale up leadership and management capacity. By examining how LMS has used Web-based distance learning programs, networks, and resources to address gaps in health professionals’ management and leadership skills and education in 140 countries, LMS has learned that:

  • The potential for using virtual approaches is growing. Virtual approaches are cost-efficient and increase access to learning opportunities for people who would not otherwise receive them.
  • Health professionals, doctors, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, social workers, laboratory specialists, managers, and administrators around the world are applying skills they have learned in LMS’s virtual programs and seminars to reduce illness and save lives.
