Linking Leadership and Management to Good Governance
Successfully strengthening leadership and management capacity has contributed to improvements in governance across a diverse and wide range of programs in the public sector, civil society, and complex multi-sectoral bodies in developing countries. After examining this link in 10 countries, LMS concludes:
- Good governance is about people as well as systems.
- Although every country is unique, the approaches, strategies and tools to strengthen good governance can be effectively transferred.
- Governance is different than management and leadership but uses the tools from both.
