USAID Collaborative Support for Health Program

Project Overview

The USAID Collaborative Support for Health (CSH) program provides technical assistance to the Government of Liberia at the central and county levels to strengthen its health system to meet the daily health needs of Liberians and become more resilient in the face of emergencies. CSH assists the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Bong, Lofa, and Nimba counties - home to one-third of the country's 4.3 million residents - to accelerate progress toward the country's priorities for quality health care improvement. Specific initiatives under the CSH project include strengthening the health workforce, improving data systems and financial management, laying the foundation for universal health care, strengthening leadership and governance, advancing quality of care, and ensuring availability of medicine. CSH also assists the Ministry of Public Works to improve management of its infrastructure, as a reliable water supply is key to maintaining good health.

The CSH program provides training and technical assistance to support the key priorities of the MOH National Health and Social Welfare Policy and Plan 2011 – 2021 as well as the post-Ebola Health Sector Investment Plan. Through these investments, MSH and its partners are helping Liberia achieve its vision of becoming a middle-income country by 2030 by improving the overall quality of health services.
