Rebuilding Basic Health Services Project

Project Overview

The Rebuilding Basic Health Services Project (RBHS) Program is supported by USAID and implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., with partners Management Sciences for Health, Jhpiego, and the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs. RBHS works to rebuild basic health systems and services in seven counties affected by the civil war in Liberia. Working with local organizations through a system of targeted performance-based financing for health services and with national-level health training institutes, the program seeks to transform the relief-dependent health system into a fully functional service guided and managed by the ministry of health.
