Burundi Maternal and Child Health Program

Project Overview

The Maternal Child Health Program, an initiative of the Republic of Burundi as part of its bilateral cooperation with the United States Government, is designed to increase the utilization of quality maternal and child health (MCH) services.  The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented by Pathfinder International, in collaboration with MSH.

Objectives

  • Improve the quality of the package of basic maternal and child health services
  • Build capacity of health center staff
  • Build the capacity of national, provincial and districts authorities to collect, analyze, disseminate and act on health information data
  • Provide communities with the knowledge and skills to identify, prevent and address key maternal and child health risks
