Operational Research

Operational Research is used to understand issues related to malaria intervention implementation and to improve performance and innovation, leading to reduced malaria transmission and case load.

MSH work has supported operational research in MIP to develop tools and quality assurance measures to address service delivery challenges that prevent or contribute to pregnant women not receiving IPTp. MSH will begin in 2017 an operational research activity in Malawi to investigate the administering of IPTp by community health workers, at the community level, to assess the potential to increase IPTp uptake without having a negative impact on ANC attendance.
