Pharmaceutical Management: Our Impact

During 2002 alone, 3.1 million people died of AIDS and another 5 million were newly infected. Young people ages 15-24 account for 42 percent of new HIV infections and represent almost one-third of people living with HIV/AIDS worldwide.

Grant to help countries develop drug and vaccine programs to be used globally BOSTON, MA — Management Sciences for Health (MSH) will use a $29.9 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to improve the drug supply systems of developing countries and create new public-private models that will promote sustainable, equitable access to priority drugs and vaccines throughout the world.

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA  — Guyana, one of the 15 priority countries identified by President George W. Bush for AIDS relief, recently received US$110,000 in pediatric antiretroviral (ARV) drugs from the US Government. US Ambassador Roland Bullen transferred the life-prolonging drugs to Minister of Health Dr. Leslie Ramsammy during an official ceremony in Guyana.
