Operational Research

Operational Research is used to understand issues related to malaria intervention implementation and to improve performance and innovation, leading to reduced malaria transmission and caseload.

MSH work has supported operational research in MIP to develop tools and quality assurance measures to address service delivery challenges that prevent or contribute to pregnant women not receiving IPTp. In 2017 MSH launched an operational research activity in Malawi to investigate the administering of IPTp by community health workers, at the community level, to assess the potential to increase IPTp uptake without reducing ANC attendance.
