Global Symposium on Health Systems Research
Strengthening health systems is the most sustainable way of improving health and saving lives on a large scale. For more than 45 years in over 150 countries, MSH has partnered with governments and communities to build strong, locally-led health systems that improve reproductive, maternal, and child health, fight infectious disease, and control chronic illness. MSH builds strong health systems that deliver everything it takes — people, money, medicine, information, and facilities — to prevent disease, treat illness, and empower people to lead healthier lives.
In Vancouver, please join us for discussions on all aspects of resilient health systems: evidence on leadership, management, and governance; building a strong health workforce at the community level; new costing and financing tools; and measuring pharmaceutical strengthening.

From Intuition to Evidence
Connecting Practitioners and Researchers to Build the Evidence on the Contribution of Leadership, Management, and Governance to Resilient Health Systems
Monday, November 14, 09:00 – 11:00 PDT | East Building, Room 18
Connecting investments in leadership, management, and governance to stronger health systems continues to challenge health leaders. However, the USAID-funded Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Project aims to bridge the evidence gap by uniting practitioners and researchers to study the relationship between leadership, management, and governance interventions and resilient health systems.
This satellite session provides a forum to discuss what is known, where gaps exist, and how partnerships can help build the evidence on LMG investments for stronger health systems, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
