MSH to Organize Leadership and Management Advocacy Event at Global Health Council
CAMBRIDGE, MA — Management Sciences for Health (MSH) will be organizing an advocacy event titled, “Health Leadership and Management by Design – Not Default,” at the Global Health Council (GHC) on March 26th in Washington, DC. Among the speakers are Leadership, Management, and Sustainability (LMS) Program Director Joseph Dwyer; World Health Organization Health Systems Advisor Dr. Delanyo Dovlo; Kenya Ministry of Medical Services Representative Dr. Harrison Kiambati; and Harvard Global Health Delivery Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Weintraub. Global Health Council Executive Vice President Maurice Middleburg will be moderating the event.
Focusing on how leadership and management can improve health systems, the advocacy event’s participants will discuss findings from Kenya’s Leadership and Management Assessment, MSH worldwide surveys, and work from Harvard’s Global Health Delivery Program. Presenters will discuss the role of health managers in making health systems work, as well as the essential role of practical, action-oriented leadership and management preparation training for health managers to ensure they have the skills they need to achieve results.
The meeting will be held in the Global Health Council’s Washington, DC headquarters on Thursday, March 26 from 10-11:30 AM.
