Mothers are caregivers, educators, leaders and decision-makers. And they are frontline health workers and first responders, safeguarding their families' and communities' health and well-being.

Mothers do everything for their families. Even when pregnant, they travel for days, on foot or by boat, to give birth at the nearest health facility. They cradle their sick children as they wait to be seen by a doctor in a crowded hospital. Mothers work multiple jobs and save their earnings so they can buy medicines, clothing, food, and school tuition and books for their children.

Mothers do so much, and that’s why we work so hard for and with them.

At Management Sciences for Health, we work every day to deliver life-saving services in some of the poorest and hardest-to-reach regions of the world. In 2016, MSH projects reached an estimated 100 million people in 36 countries worldwide.

We strive to make pregnancy and childbirth safer and ensure universal access to high-quality, comprehensive, respectful health care and information. We partner with women, young people, and communities to help them realize their right to a healthy life.

Mothers are essential partners in this work. We couldn’t do any of this without them.

Happy Mother’s Day.
