The MSH family is extremely saddened by the loss of our longtime Chief Financial Officer, Kate Griffin. Kate passed away on May 19 after a valiant battle with cancer. Kate worked at MSH for more than 15 years and was a monumental figure in the organization from early on. She joined MSH in 1997 as a Contract Officer, and for the past 12 years, served as MSH's Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Griffin had thirty years of extensive and progressively responsible experience in the areas of finance corporate administration, contract management, and procurement. Ms. Griffin previously served as deputy director of contracts and grants administration for MSH, where she managed some of the organization's largest bilateral USAID contracts.

Kate was well-respected and well-loved throughout MSH and will be remembered for her strong, caring leadership style as well as her engaging personality. She was known for her open-door policy, unflappable calm, and sense of humor. Kate was a committed leader, a dedicated and patient mentor, and a devoted friend to many. We are grateful for all she helped accomplish during her time with MSH, and she will be immeasurably missed. Our hearts and thoughts are with Kate's family and friends, as well as those who worked with her over the many years. Donations can be made in Kate's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
