International Women's Day 2015 Event Women and girls experience widespread inequalities in socioeconomic power, education, and gender-based violence, resulting in lack of access to health services (including reproductive health and family planning services), which lead to detrimental health outcomes. For example, every day 800 women die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth, and women and girls face increased vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.
