PRIDE Project (Primary Healthcare Revitalization, Integration, and Decentralization in Earthquake-Affected Areas)
Project Date: 2006–2010

Working with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) on this four-year project, MSH will help significantly improve primary health care services for the earthquake-affected populations in Bagh and Mansehra districts in northern Pakistan. PRIDE will
- strengthen the financial and human resource management capacities of district health authorities and primary health care providers,
- improve access to and quality of primary health care services through an essential package of health services and improved skills of primary health personnel, and
- increase community demand for quality services through an innovative social mobilization process aimed at increasing knowledge for informed decision-making.
The PRIDE consortium—whose members joined forces to respond to primary health care needs in the aftermath of the 2005 earthquake—is comprised of IRC, MSH, JHPIEGO, and Population Council.
