Healthy Communities and Municipalities II
Project Date: 2010–2015
This five-year project is an Associate Award under the USAID-funded Leadership, Management and Sustainability Project. The goal of Healthy Communities and Municipalities II (HCM II) is to improve maternal/child and family planning/reproductive health through the promotion of a range of healthy practices, focusing on those activities shown to have the biggest public health impact.
It is designed to consolidate the approach and model developed through the original HCM project (2006-2010), as well as to provide assistance to transfer this approach and model to local public and private entities, to ensure sustainability, and thus continue the significant gains achieved in promoting maternal and child health in Peru. Among the private-sector partners in this project in Peru is Cementos Lima, which will be supporting project activities in the specific geographic areas where they operate, with technical assistance provided by USAID/Peru's HCM II team.
