Competent leadership and effective management systems are critical components of any organization facing complex challenges and pressure to produce sustainable results. Leadership and management are especially important to health service organizations and their managers in this era of rapid change, health sector reform, the HIV & AIDS epidemic, and the crisis in human resources for health.
MSH is committed to improving leadership, governance, and management of public-sector organizations, multisectoral partnerships, and civil society organizations to achieve sustainability of accessible, quality health services and programs.
We work with in-country partners to build stronger health systems to improve:
- the management and leadership of priority health programs, health organizations, and multisectoral partnerships such as The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, developing a critical mass of managers at all levels of the health system who can lead and inspire teams to achieve results;
- the management systems of health organizations in the public and private sector, transferring practical approaches and skills to ensure that management structures contribute to sustainable organizational success;
- the governance and management of health organizations and multisectoral partnerships, facilitating change and transferring knowledge to enable organizations to administer their resources efficiently and scale up their services.
We collaborate with managers and their teams at all levels to strengthen leadership, governance, and management capacity as well as vital organizational management systems, including planning, human resource management, financial management, and information systems.
We support and complement our in-country work with individuals and organizations with innovative Web-based management and leadership development learning programs, seminars, and conferences that reinforce our direct technical assistance in organizational development, leadership, governance, and management worldwide.
The Center for Leadership and Management (CLM) serves as the hub of MSH’s activities and expertise in the area of leadership, governance, and management.
