Web Version of the 2006 International Drug Price Indicator Guide

The 2006 International Drug Price Indicator Guide is now available in interactive format on the Web through MSH's Electronic Resource Center.

Produced collaboratively with the World Health Organization (WHO), the 2006 edition of the Guide includes nearly 80 new products, for a total of more than 1,050 items. The Guide provides a spectrum of prices from 26 sources, including nonprofit drug suppliers, commercial procurement agencies, international development organizations, and government agencies.

Published annually, the Guide helps supply officers determine the probable cost of pharmaceutical products for their programs, compare current prices paid to prices available on the international market, assess the potential financial impact of changes to a medicines list, and support rational drug use education. The Guide's explanatory text is provided in English, French, and Spanish.

Classes featuring the most new entries in the 2006 Guide are—

  • Anti-infectives, particularly antiretrovirals and antimalarials

  • Diagnostics

The Web version of the Guide, available through MSH's Electronic Resource Center in interactive format, enables the user to create custom lists of medicines, compare prices, and plan a budget. It contains price data from the 1996 edition to the present edition.
